You'll lie down and may be asked to position yourself slightly on your side so the heart can be viewed clearly.
The Scan
A small amount of ultrasound gel is applied to your chest. The probe is gently moved over different areas to capture images of your heart.
Images Are Captured
Different views of the heart are recorded so they can be assessed during reporting.
You're Done
Once the examination is complete, the gel is cleaned off, and you can generally return to your normal activities.
